ZERO X Electric Motorcycle Review – Dirt Bikes Electric
As I lifted the front wheel and cranked the “throttle” since a little one-wheeled grandstanding, my attempt at showing off was crossed. Big time. The front wheel flew skyward and beyond, and in a split second the Zero X flipped itself, angrily tossing me onto my back. I approximate

can bite– particularly when they’ve got equally much torque as “real” motorcycles but consider entirely 151 pounds.
You perhaps tempted to enthusiastically twist the right clutch when you hop aboard the ZERO X electric dirtbike, but I powerfully suggest you resist: since it weights only 151 pounds and electric motors make maximum torque at zero rpms, that sudden move can cause serious front wheel lift and, as I experienced, flipping.
But I take broad responsibility for my spill, and the incident actually hurt me more than it hurt the ZERO X– which only asked its fender beat back in ahead it hit the deck again. I wish I comprised equally durable as this bike.
Once I dusted myself away and climbed back alongside, a lot of things became more evident: for one, its accelerator bears a few millimeters of dead travel before the power pours on, so care must be accepted… best to practice in low acceleration mode before going further aggro. Once you build up confidence, the ZERO X becomes loads of fun to ride, though its mountain bike-like suspension makes some janky sounds as you coast over uneven terrain. It also has a tendency to bottom out on the big stuff, so don’t expect some hardcore antics you wouldn’t think twice about on a
bonafide dirtbike
.
Expensive, quirky, and extremely specialized, the ZERO X isn’t for everybody. But if you don’t mind spending big bucks on an unusual two-wheeled plaything, this
electric dirtbike is a refreshing way to hit the dirt
